I’m not one for shopping and searching for bargains online but when I heard about Ebates, I asked myself “What is Ebates com about?” which led me to write this review.
It was a friend who told me that you can save money by shopping online. I’ve earned money through Swagbucks but I wasn’t aware of saving money through an online site unless they were having a sale.
It did sound too good to be true and I’m sure you’re thinking the same thing but read on and this detailed review will provide information on “What is Ebates com about“, and how you can sign up and earn cashback through their stores.

What Is Ebates
Ebates is a cashback site that rewards you for shopping online. Most people love to shop online as it’s very convenient; add Ebates to the mix and you’re on your way to an even fuller shopping cart.
Ebates is an affiliate site with over 2000 big brand name stores such as Home Depot, OfficeMax, Victoria’s Secret, Amazon, Expedia, Groupon, Macy’s, Sephora, Target and Walmart.
As an affiliate site, what this means is that when someone clicks on an Ebates link to a retail store and makes a purchase on the website, the retail store will pay Ebates a commission for directing customers to their site and Ebates, in turn, will give you a cut in the form of cash back. The spilt is 50/50.

Never Miss Out On Cash Back
There may be times when you have the urge to buy something on impulse and forget to log into your Ebates account. Don’t fear!
Ebates has developed the Ebates Cash Back Button which means that you will never miss Cash Back again. It’s a browser extension which alerts you every time you’re shopping at a store that offers Cash Back through Ebates. In addition, it finds you coupon codes while you shop!
Step 1: Download and install the free browser extension by searching for “Ebates Cash Back Button” in your favourite browser window. It’s available on Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. (The image below shows the download for Google Chrome).
Step 2: Start shopping as you normally do. When you land on a page, the Ebates Cash Back Button will alert you if Cash Back is available at that merchant. Click “Activate” and you’re ready to begin shopping and earning Cash Back.
Earning Ebates On The Go
Ebates also have an app. You can download the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App store. Just search for ‘Ebates’. I’ve noticed that there are similarly named apps so I have included an image of the legit app below.
However, as you can see, the Country Region states ‘United States’ even though I am UK based. I found that I could download the app and shop but when I came to make a purchase, there was a notice informing me that the merchant didn’t ship to my location. This is something you will need to check.
What I have done in the past is to have the item shipped to a friend in the States as I was going to be there on holiday, then I’d collect it on arrival. So, if shipping isn’t available at your location, this might be another option.

Cash Back Everywhere You Shop
You may have a favourite charity that you would like to donate your cash back to. Ebates offers this facility and your cash back can be sent automatically to the charity of your choosing. You don’t have to do any running around. Isn’t this great!

You can save money by shopping online at your favourite stores. However, to save money, you need to spend money and not everyone has the luxury of spending enough money to make the saving worth their while.
What if you could make money without spending unnecessarily? How does that sound?
What about the thought of not just earning quarterly but what if you could earn on a monthly basis? Even better?
Check out my #1 recommendation and decide for yourself.
If you have used Ebates in the past, what were your experiences? Was it worth it?
